Subject Content: The meeting starts with M. Mead talking about human behavior, its relation to social and biological factors and the urge within man towards individualism and communalism.
Next, follows a discussion about society and human settlements, their characteristics before and after the industrial revolution. Speakers argue that the main difference in modern societies is transport opportunities which leads to a different perspective of space and that modern societies identity is not determined solely by their geographical location.
In the second part of the meeting, J. Platt and Sir R. Matthew speak of definition of groups using biological and social criteria, about each groups contrasting interests and conflicts within a group.
