Subject Content: C. A. Doxiadis begins by giving a long lecture on proper city planning. Special reference is reserved for the administrative structure of modern cities and the effectiveness of a city plan based on functionality rather than beauty.
Discussion revolves mainly around citizens participation in planning. M. Mead refers to student manifestations and A. Toynbee to cases where people shape their houses themselves.
L. Duhl analyses the project of founding a medical school in Newark city and the problems this caused to local community. C. Wyzanski, K. Deutsch and J. Riboud join the discussion.
The recording also includes:
-The presentation of the "Human Communities" project by D. Iatridis, who describes the projects structure and about the way information on the inhabitants of a certain community were gathered. There follows a free discussion, D. Iatridis and P. Psomopoulos are mainly heard.
