| Subject Content: | Sir R. Matthew begins with a talk on the relation between the Symposium and the Vancouver Summit of 1976. He introduces the discussion topic: "Action for a better scientific approach".
The main participants in the discussion are G. Dix, R. Lourie, R. Quinn, T. Ho, R. Aldrich and D. Iatridis. The topic of the discussion is the influence of scientists in decision making and planning and whether this can be based solely on experience and data or whether it can be based on assumptions as well. C. A. Doxiadis -with the aid of an announcer- makes his statement on "Anthropokosmos". The statement involves the division of the world into four areas which should be studied separately by planners in order to properly classify settlements. There follows a discussion in this issue. |
